Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is a charity that supports the evolution of thriving communities through effective philanthropy.

Our county's wealth, success and beauty hide a number of serious and shocking social problems. OCF brings an in-depth understanding of these needs and holds trusted relationships with our network of grassroots delivery charities and community groups. We champion this vibrant local charity sector as a crucial way to combat issues such as homelessness, educational inequality, and loneliness and isolation, awarding between £1 and 2 million in grants annually.

In our first 27 years we have achieved a great deal, including stewarding over £20 million in philanthropic gifts; granting nearly £14 million in vital funding to some 1,400 charities and community groups; developing our philanthropic services to support a growing number of named funds; and building an endowment worth over £6.6 million, which helps to underpin our long-term stability.

Chief Executive Officer

Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF)

Circa £70,000

Oxford, Oxfordshire

During the Covid pandemic, OCF was able to deliver huge impact to our community. Following this success, OCF is now looking to harness this impact, building a fundraising approach that ensures we can support as many charities and community groups as possible, as the county faces worsening economic and social challenges in the wake of the pandemic.

Maximising existing and new opportunities and working closely with our Head of Philanthropy, our new Chief Executive will build close personal relationships with donors to secure vital corporate, foundation and philanthropic income to support those in need. The CEO will also raise our profile and represent the organisation across a broad range of stakeholders, from local grassroots partners to local government and MPs. Working with the Board, the CEO will also provide support and development for our staff, and oversee a collaborative and inclusive culture where the whole team can thrive.

We are looking for a highly effective ambassador for those in need of support, who brings:

- A track record of raising income from either private, corporate, public or charitable sources

- Experience of developing and leading successful fundraising or business development strategies

- Solid relationship-building, networking and profile-raising skills.

This role is a unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in tackling social inequalities and deprivation, in order to make a lasting impact in Oxfordshire's community.

OCF is committed to achieving greater diversity in its executive team/board, and welcomes applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, sexuality, belief or disability.

To arrange a discussion about the opportunity, please contact our retained advisors Anna Gardet or Shatakshi Srivastava by email at Anna.Gardet@prospect-us.co.uk or Shatakshi.Srivastava@prospect-us.co.uk with a copy of your CV.

Deadline for applications: Monday 11th July 2022
