CIArb is committed to promoting effective dispute resolution and the benefits it brings to society and economies across the world. We are recognised globally as a thought leading organisation which brings together an inclusive community of diverse dispute resolvers through the provision of world class education and training, member services, undertaking research, working collaboratively with partners.

Through our commitment to promote the benefits of using effective dispute resolution, we raise professional standards and embed ethical rules into practice thereby supporting the rule of law and enabling access to justice.

CIArb is currently going through a series of governance reforms and has recently written to the membership to canvass views on the proposals which CIArb believes are in the best interests of the Institute as we seek to amend our governance structure in a way that supports the delivery of our strategy and that represents best practice in the not-for-profit, professional membership sector. One of the changes is the establishment of specialist Sub-Committees of the Board of Trustees to support the governance of CIArb. We are therefore seeking up to 3 independent subject matter experts to serve on each of CIArb's Committee who can both contribute to and support us on the next phase of CIArb's journey as an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution. These specialist Committees will have a trustee majority, will be chaired by a trustee and will be will be populated with subject matter experts.
